Self-Portrait: Violin and Me
Violin and Me is a self-portrait project by violinist I-Jung Huang, which was a week-long mini project on Instagram about the relationship between her and the violin.
In this first portrait, I tried many different angles, posing with the violin, and in the end I carefully managed to place my hand elegantly on the violin. This is one of my favorite in terms of composition. It shows the close relationship of me and the instrument.
Since most of my photography looks kind of dark, I wanted to give a light look on this photo . I hold my violin like a companion, and I wore a jacket to give a kind of “traveling look”.
This apparently reveals the intensity of our relationship. The look of my eyes, and how I held my violin straight, gives the feelings of equality.
